    That looks like Chinese street food I found in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. I don’t think it’s a Thai dish.

    @badjujuwan I wish my town had a great Asian market too! =( But I’m trying to work with what I have, and I want to prove that everybody can cook Asian food without having everything! I’m glad you enjoying my cooking video! =D Cheers!!

    @seonkyoung83

    I’m so tempted to buy one, but that will take up too much space. As it stands, I already have 3 sets of cookware: stainless steel, nonstick, and cast iron. I’m looking at some Le Creuset cookware – it’s insane.

    I still can’t believe how inexpensive it is to make delicious Asian food at home. I love chili oil and just made a batch. So much better than buying those little cups for 25 cents at restaurants.

    I’m going to make a batch of pad thai sauce soon.

  15. seonkyoung83 says:

    @badjujuwan You can break down the palm sugar. Use around 1Table spoon to 2Table spoons for your taste! =)

  16. badjujuwan says:

    You said you can use palm sugar instead of plum sauce. How much palm sugar do we use? Mine came in small blocks.

    Thx!

  17. badjujuwan says:

    Can’t wait until I run out of supplies so I can get more stuff – keep the videos coming.

    Cheers!

    I got so much stuff for such little money than I feel I’ve been robbed in the supermarkets all these years. HUGE squid tubes – not like the tiny squid babies I normal see, blue crab, prawns that look like mini lobsters (langoustines), squid tentacles (I LOVE squid), and so much more.

    The only thing that scared me was I did not know if they sold live eels and that would have freaked me the hell out. I had to play the dumb girl and ask before I looked at the seafood counter. LOL

    Another great recipe. Between you, Kai, and RunnyRunny, I’ve found my inner Asian spirit and I’m African!

    After watching you guys’ videos, I made a list of several ingredients to cook like a true Asian. Ok, I have not purchased a wok (yet), but I use my calphalon cookware which seems to work well. I’m still on the lookout for a good mortar and pestle.

    I made a trip out to the authentic Thai/Vietnamese markets in Chicago today – I hit Chinatown about a week ago – and it was fantastic.
